Otolaryngology

Otolaryngology is a medical and surgical specialty concerned with the complex senses and organs of the head and neck. An otolaryngologist is commonly referred to as an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) physician. Our board-certified otolaryngologists have been trained in medical and surgical skills to treat the head and neck, and offer a variety of services.

Skin and Face

Including skin cancer and moles, cosmetic surgery (facelift, laser skin resurfacing, ear tuck, birthmark removal, eyelid surgery), and rehabilitation of facial paralysis, repair of facial laceration and facial fractures.

Nose

Including allergies, sinus infections, blockage, cosmetic nasal surgery and repair of fractures.

Ear

Including microscopic eardrum surgery and ear tube placement.

Throat and Voice

Including swallowing difficulties, tonsil problems, infections, hoarseness, speech and voice diagnostics and therapy, sleep apnea evaluation.

Neck

Including tumors of the thyroid and parathyroid, salivary glands and lymph nodes.

Audiology

Comprehensive audiological services and state-of-the-art hearing instrument technology is available at Lawrence Otolaryngology. Diagnostic services include early detection of hearing loss in infants, tests of balance to evaluate dizziness, noise and water protection for the ear, and neurodiagnostic evaluations. Patients can evaluate hearing aid performance during a 30-day trial period. Our office also provides full services and repair on hearing aids.

Speech-Language Pathology

The Kansas Voice Center provides highly specialized evaluation and treatment for a variety of voice problems. Comprehensive evaluation is also available in the areas of articulation, phonology, language, and fluency. Our speech-language pathologist—Jennifer C. Rismiller, MA, CCC-SLP—is board certified with the American Speech Language Hearing Association and is a licensed in the states of Kansas and Missouri.
